Radon is a natural gas that is odorless and invisible. It’s important to check for it, as high levels of, and prolonged contact with radon gas is the second cause of lung cancer each year.
Termites
Termites eat wood from the inside out. The main signs of termites may coincide with other issues (such as squeaky floorboards) or be hard to spot, like small holes in drywall.
Mold
Mold can be spotted- but if the owner of the house you’re looking to buy cleaned it up or painted over it, it may be tough (or impossible) to see. There are certain signs of mold– but rather than rely on eyes alone, it’s best to do a thorough mold test!
Lead
If you’re purchasing an older house, it’s wise to check for lead in the paint. While there is no visible difference between leaded or unleaded paint, special tests can be conducted to determine the safety of the paint in your home.
